Pumpkin carving

Last week for family night, we decided to carve pumpkins with our friends Beau, Mindy, Brady, and Katie. This was our final result. Ours is on the far right. I don't think you can see it very well in the picture but our pumpkin had a perfect lightning shaped mark on the top of it so naturally we made ours Harry Potter. It didn't turn out as good as we had hoped (carving glasses ended up being much harder than we expected) but we had a great time.

Our giant tree

We had a ward auction last week to raise money for Primary Children's Hospital. It was such a great time. We had loads of delicious food and a very entertaining time during the auction. Everyone from the ward donated their talents for the cause. Todd and I just bought a couple things but we were really excited about both of them. We got a date night provided by the bishop that we are super excited about. We also got leaf raking service :) We are even more excited about this one. We have this HUGE tree in our front yard. We absolutely love it because it has been a wonderful shade tree during this past summer but we have noticed that the leaves on it have just started to turn orange and we realized that this tree is going to turn into a huge job once the leaves start falling. When we saw the leaf raking up for auction, we were so excited and determined to win it. We ended up paying $12 for it but I'm sure it will be worth every penny.

I never thought I'd have a blog!

So Todd and I were talking about how terrible we have become with keeping journals. We have each written in our journals maybe 2 or 3 times since we've been married. I love to look at everyone's blogs and I think that it is a super way to do a bit of journaling and also to let all of my friends and family know how we are doing and what's new. So...I am starting a blog.

Recently, our lives have consisted of work and school and not much else. We are both so burned out and sick of school that it has been a real challenge to get things done. We are both in our last year (YAY) but (as crazy as it sounds) I'm not sure that it is a good thing that we are both almost done. We seemed to be equally unmotivated this year so I think it makes it worse for the other. We are definitely excited to finish school and be able to move on with life. Todd is majoring in accounting and is starting the process of applying for jobs. He has been also tossing around the idea of law school so we will almost surely end up moving next summer. It has been really fun looking at all of the possibilities of places to go. It will definitely be an adventure! :)
