1 year

I can't believe it has already been a year since Todd and I got married. It has flown by SO fast! We were trying to decide what we wanted to do for our anniversaries. We aren't really big on gifts so we decided to take turns each year planning something fun. We chose Todd to go first this year since I spent last summer planning a wedding :) He did a great job and we had such a fun time. We started our weekend of fun on Friday. I got off work at 2 and we headed down to Salt Lake.

Our first stop was dinner at the Mayan. I had never been there before and Todd had been there only once when he was younger. It was great! The restaurant is 4 stories tall and on one end there is a huge waterfall with a pool at the bottom. Every half hour or so they would have divers that jumped off the rocks into the pool. It was amazing! (I tried to take pictures inside but it was too dark)

The next morning we hiked up Ensign Peak. It was a short hike up the hill but the view of the city was amazing! This is the bottom and you can see the top in the background.

This is us at the top

Saturday afternoon was spent at Seven Peaks in Provo. It is a popular Jensen family destination and I've heard all about how fun it is so I was very excited to go and see for myself. There were loads of water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and tons of other little pools. This picture is the scariest slide at the park. I like to call it the death slide. Todd convinced me to try it but I only did it once vowing never to put my life in danger again. It doesn't look nearly as intense in the picture as it felt looking down from the top.

Last but not least....IKEA! I have been dying to go to the SLC Ikea since it opened. While living in Connecticut, it was a frequently visited store but I haven't been since I moved back 4 years ago. It was still as great as I remember, though, and I'm pretty sure Todd enjoyed it as well.

A wonderfully busy week

We have had a great and busy week. First, we made our way to Fallon, NV to visit Todd's brother and his family for a long weekend. We don't get to see them very often so it was wonderful to be able to go and spend time with them. They have 4 adorable kids that were so much fun to hang out with. We played in the playhouse, dug holes in the garden, flew kites, and saw Toy Story 3. It was so much fun and well worth the 8 hour drive.
We got home on Sunday night and then headed to Twin Falls on Wednesday. Todd had an all day meeting for his new job so I went along to spend the day exploring. I studied for a few hours in the hotel room that morning and then went shopping/walking around town for the afternoon. We are both so excited to move there. It just seems like our kind of town. I think we're really going to love it. :)
Friday, I drove to Ogden to take the dreaded test. It was such a long drive by myself just stressing about what was coming but I made it through...and passed!!!! It was actually harder than I expected so I was pretty worried but so glad that it worked out. It's SO nice to be done studying everyday and actually have time to do things around the house. Now we just have to get Todd through his 4 tests....
The week ended with a great 4th of July celebration. We spent Saturday in Idaho Falls for my favorite holiday festivities. We walked the river, had a bbq, and watched the fireworks with friends and family. It was a wonderful day and I'm so glad that we were able to go. We were even lucky enough to get to celebrate twice :) Sunday, we were able to watch the Pocatello fireworks from Todd's parents' roof. We are so luck to have been able to do so many fun things this past week.
